Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter: story and setting

Candyland is the setting, with sweets and fruit tumbling down the reels. Pragmatic calls Sweet Bonanza an iconic series that spans both slots and live casino. This edition keeps the original’s play and adds a single new symbol, the Super Scatter.

Per the launch release, it is the third Super Scatter game, after Gates of Olympus Super Scatter and Mahjong Wins Super Scatter. For reference, the original Sweet Bonanza’s official page lists 96.48% RTP, 0.03 points below this edition’s 96.51%.

How it plays, summarised from the studio’s description

Super Scatters

Sticky multipliers
Multipliers up to 100x can land in free spins and stay on the grid until the feature ends. They are added up at the end of each tumble sequence and applied to the total win.

RTP differs by 0.02 points across modes and buys. What changes is how much each decision costs, and so how much a single decision can lose. Against the base bet, every mode caps at 50,000x, so raising the cost per spin with an ante lowers the cap relative to what you pay. A thousand base spins (KRW 1,000,000 staked) carry an expected loss of KRW 34,900.

The chance of each event and the expected loss over 100, 1,000 and 10,000 spins of Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter

Even over 10,000 spins (about 2.8 hours at one spin a second) the chance of landing the max win even once is 0.0012%, while the expected loss over that stretch is KRW 349,000.

Worked out from the studio’s published average frequencies as 1 − (1 − 1/frequency)^spins. It treats spins as independent; real sessions swing widely around these figures.

Reading the numbers

  • It uses the same Super Scatter prize ladder as Gates of Olympus Super Scatter (100x to 50,000x), but the max win is rarer at 1 in 833,333,333. That is about once in 26 years at one spin per second.
  • The multiplier cap is 100x, below the Gates games’ 500x. The trade-off is that values do not vanish during free spins; they accumulate.
  • The symbol paytable matches Gates of Olympus: the top symbol pays 50x for 12+, the lowest 0.25x for 8 or 9.
  • The 1.25x ante returns 96.53% on the server, with a cap of 40,000x the amount staked (1 in 357,142,857). Both bonus buys (100x and 500x) return 96.51%.
